We are quickly approaching the “canonizations” of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II. While most Traditionalists are opposed to the “canonization” of JPII, there is some debate as to the worthiness of John XXIII to be declared a “saint”.

I’ve already addressed the question of whether or not Roncalli (John XXIII) deserves to be recognized as a “saint” in my article “Roncalli Canonized?”. The answer is “no”. But I would like to take this opportunity to respond to claims that Roncalli was not all that bad, or was somehow “more Traditional” and “less modernist” than Pope Pius XII, whom most Traditional Catholics recognize as the last Traditional Pope.

Traditio is one site which asserts that John XXIII was “more Traditional” than Pius XII. Here is an excerpt from a recent article of theirs:

“Even most traditional Catholics are ignorant how traditional John XXIII was in doctrine and liturgy, more traditional in many ways that his predecessor Pope Pius XII. Pius XII appointed the architect of the New Order Liturgy, the Freemason presbyter Hannibal Bugnini, who destroyed the Traditional Roman Rite. Pius XII wrote the ambiguous Encyclical Letter Mediator Dei (1947), which did not take decisive action against those Modernists who were already destroying the Traditional Latin Mass. On the other hand, John XXIII fired Bugnini, forbidding him to have any significant position at the Council, even calling him a “heretic.” John XXIII also wrote the Apostolic Constitution Veterum sapientia (1962), which strongly defended the exclusive use of Latin in the Roman liturgy and required priests to have 7-9 years of Latin.”

This assessment is far from accurate.

First of all, it is noted that Pope Pius XII wrote an “ambiguous Encyclical Letter Mediator Dei”, but a key fact which is ignored is that Pius XII also wrote “Humani Generis”, which is a great anti-modernist Encyclical.

Traditio also states that Pius XII was the one whom appointed Cardinal Bugnini, the Freemason whom was largely responsible for the Novus Ordo, while John XXIII “fired” Bugnini. But here we have several important facts which again are overlooked. For one, John XXIII’s opening address at the Second Vatican Council was inspired by Cardinal Montini, who may very well have been a Freemason himself (and whom collaborated with Bugnini to complete the Novus Ordo). Furthermore, while Roncalli was Nuncio to France, he appointed a close friend, Baron Yves Marsaudon, as head of the French branch of the Knights of Malta, a Catholic lay order. Marsaudon, a Freemason, praised the reforms that were being implemented by Roncalli and once even claimed that Roncalli himself was a Mason.

There are many other things to take into consideration here as well. Some of them I mentioned in my previous article on Roncalli, such as the Holy Office suspecting him of him being a modernist since at least 1925 (he would later admit, in a private audience with Archbishop Lefebvre, that he had been kept at a distance from the Roman curia prior to his election because he was said to have been a modernist), as well as his association with non-Catholics, including a priest who had been excommunicated in 1926 for heresy. None of these grave scandals can be attributed to Pope Pius XII.

Archbishop Lefebvre certainly did not share the view that John XXIII was “more Traditional” than Pius XII. In a 1982 conference, he stated this:

“Pope Pius XII was a great pope well in his writing as in his way of governing the Church. During the reign of Pius XII the Faith was firmly maintained. Naturally the liberals did not like him, for he brought back to mind the fundamental principles of theology and truth. But then John XXIII came along. He had a totally different temperament than Pius XII. John XXIII was a very simple and open man. He did not see problems anywhere.”

Bishop Williamson echoed the belief of the Archbishop during a conference he gave at Post Falls, Idaho, in 2013. He remarked that John XXIII considered the modern world “nice” and that the Church needed to be “reconciled” with the world.

Finally, here is an excerpt from John XXIII’s opening address at the Second Vatican Council:

“In the daily exercise of our pastoral office, we sometimes have to listen, much to our regret, to voices of persons who, though burning with zeal, are not endowed with too much sense of discretion or measure. In these modern times they can see nothing but prevarication and ruin. They say that our era, in comparison with past eras, is getting worse, and they behave as though they had learned nothing from history, which is, none the less, the teacher of life. They behave as though at the time of former Councils everything was a full triumph for the Christian idea and life and for proper religious liberty.

We feel we must disagree with those prophets of gloom, who are always forecasting disaster, as though the end of the world were at hand.

In the present order of things, Divine Providence is leading us to a new order of human relations which, by men’s own efforts and even beyond their very expectations, are directed toward the fulfillment of God’s superior and inscrutable designs. And everything, even human differences, leads to the greater good of the Church.”

This seems to confirm that Bishop Williamson was correct in his assessment; what is essentially being said in the above address is “Away with those who talk about how bad off the world is today! There is plenty of good in today’s world! Let us strive to reconcile the Church with the modern world”.

Also, “a new order of human relations” seemed to be a subtle suggestion of what was to come, namely, ecumenising with false religions. The choice of words, however, is also most interesting. He speaks of a “new order”. Could he have been hinting at the New World Order? It certainly would not be a stretch to wonder if this is the case. In fact, Paul VI would go on to specifically endorse a “New World Order” at the United Nations in 1967, followed by Benedict XVI calling for a NWO in 2009.

Because of all these facts, I therefore see absolutely no reason to conclude that John XXIII was “more Traditional” than Pope Pius XII, or that he wasn’t all that bad. The facts simply do not support such a ludicrous assertion. On the contrary; Pope Pius XII, though not perfect, was an angelic shepherd who did much good for the Church. It was his successors – Roncalli, Montini, and the rest of them – who disregarded the teachings of Pius and the other Popes, leading to a truly unprecedented apostasy from the Faith as a direct result of Vatican II.

Do not be deceived. John XXIII was no friend of Tradition, nor have any of his successors been so.

God Bless.

Vat2..

Vatican Council I – 1870 AD

Defined the infallibility of the pope in matters of faith and morals

Confirmed Unum Sanctum (no salvation outside of the Catholic Church).

Assumption of the Virgin Mary (bodily ascension into heaven shortly after her death) – 1950 AD

Vatican Council II – 1965 AD

Vatican II made no new doctrines, nor did it change or repudiate any old ones; Trent and Vatican I stand as is (Vatican II verified and validated all the anathemas of Trent). Vatican II reaffirmed such Roman heresies as papal supremacy; the Roman priesthood; the mass as an unbloody sacrifice of Christ; a polluted sacramental gospel; Catholic tradition on equal par with Scripture; Mary as the Queen of Heaven and co-Redemptrix with Christ; auricular confession; Mariolatry; pilgrimages to "holy shrines"; purgatory; prayers to and for the dead; etc.

Mary proclaimed Mother of the RC church.

Reaffirmed the infallibility of the pope (and even when he does not speak ex-cathedra, all RC's must still give complete submission of mind and will to what he says).

Divided RC doctrine into that which is essential core of theology, and must be received by faith, and that which is still an undefined body of theology which RC's may question and debate without repudiating their essential core.

Established 20 complex rules concerning when and how any indulgence may be obtained, and condemned "with anathema those who say that indulgences are useless or that the Church does not have the power to grant them ... [for] the task of winning salvation."

.traditions vs words of jesus or words of the bible..

Roman Catholicism adds to the Bible by placing an undue burden upon the clergy by forbidding them to marry (I Timothy 4:1-3), the Bible calls this a "doctrine of devils!" It is important to note that the priests of pagan Rome were also required to be celibate, and this tradition dates back all the way to Babylon and Semiramis several thousand years before. Even the idea of confessing to a priest came from Babylon. It is from recorded Babylonian confessions that historians have been able to come up with conclusions about the Babylonian concepts of right and wrong. The priests of pagan Rome were called "fathers," but Jesus said to call no man "father." (Matthew 23:9-12) From what source did the Roman Catholic custom of calling a priest by this title come from, Jesus or the pagans? Jesus spoke against flattering titles to his disciples, he wanted them to treat each other equally. Jesus meant for God the Father to receive all glory, not men. It is plain to see that the majority of the traditions ]of the Roman Catholic church are man-made and of pagan origins. An intellectually honest search will show the pagan roots of the Roman Catholic church.

The cardinals were the chief clergy in pagan Rome and the word in Latin means "hinge," hence they were pivotal serving as the priests of Janus who was the pagan god of doors and hinges. He was known as the "opener and shutter," and we can understand that better by the words of Jesus in Revelation 3:7-8. Jesus was the true opener, Janus was a counterfeit. These pagan priests wore the color red because it symbolized fire, they were the keepers of the sacred fire and accordingly were known as the "Flamens." All throughout the Bible, the color red is associated with sin. (Isaiah 1:18; Ezekiel 23:14-15; Revelation 17:4) With some knowledge of history, it is easy to see the merge of Babylonian paganism and Christianity and how they became one.

Roman Catholics who read the Bible will soon discover that many Catholic teachings and practices are specifically forbidden by Jesus Christ Himself. Worship is vain when it is based upon the commandments of men rather than the Word of God. Valid tradition is based upon Scripture and confirms it. Vain tradition is based upon man's teachings and violates it. In Roman Catholicism, tradition is consistently elevated above the Scripture. The result is vain worship, and no matter how sincere, it makes the commandment of God of no effect – a very serious matter.

as different as black is to white
it really doesnt matter what you believe..
many religions have their own holy books..
many disagree with one another
RC practices don't always agree with the kjv..
and visa versa..
each group fights for numbers.. its a numbers game..
the more members.. the more powerful the movement..
so we have a 2,000 year old institution... such a strange word...

1. the Vatican rules the world.
2. the pope- is solely in charge of the Knights of Malta-AN ELITE MASONIC ORDER
3. The BLACK POPE is the head of ALL INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES, MAFIA's and ALL MASONIC "secret societies"

Freemasonry was established by the KNIGHTS TEMPLAR & JESUITS

On the 24th of November, 1754, the Chevalier de Bonneville established in Paris a Chapter of the Advanced Degrees under this name, which was derived from what Doctor Mackey deemed the Jesuitical Chapter of Clermont. This society was composed of many distinguished persons of the court and city, who, disgusted with the dissensions of the Parisian Lodges, determined to separate from them. They adopted the Templar system, which had been created at Lyons, in 1743, and their Rite consisted at first of but six Degrees, namely,

1, 2, 3. Saint John’s Freemasonry.

4. Knight of the Eagle.

5. Illustrious Knight or Templar.

6. Sublime Illustrious Knight.

But soon after that time the number nf these Degrees was greatly extended. The Baron de Hund received the advanced Degrees in this Chapter, and derived from them the idea of the Rite of Strict Observance, which he subsequently established in Germany.

CLERMONT, COLLEGE OF

college of Jesuits in Paris, where James II, after his flight from England, in 1688, resided until his removal to St. Germain.

During his residence there, he is said to have sought the establishment of a system of Freemasonry, the object of which should be the restoration of the House of Stuart to the throne of England. Relics of this attempted system are still to be found in many of the advanced Degrees, and the Chapter of Clermont, subsequently organized in Paris, appears to have had some reference to it.

JESUITS

Published by Encyclopedia Of Freemasonry on September 20, 2010 | Leave a response

In the eighteenth century the Jesuits were charged with having an intimate connection with Freemasonry, and the invention of the Degree of Kadosh was even attributed to those members of the Society who constituted the College of Clermont. This theory of a Jesuitical Freemasonry seems to have originated with the Illuminati, who were probably governed in its promulgation by a desire to depreciate the character of all other Masonic systems in comparison with their own, where no such priestly interference was permitted. Barruel scoffs at the idea of such a connection, and cans it (Histoire de Jacobinisme iv, page 287) “la fable de la Franc-Maçonnerie Jésuitique” meaning an invention of false or Jesuitical Freemasonry. For once he is right. Like oil and water the tolerance of Freemasonry and the intolerance of the “Society of Jesus” cannot commingle. Yet it cannot be denied that, while the Jesuits have had no part in the construction of pure Freemasonry, there are reasons for believing that they took an interest in the invention of some Degrees and systems which were intended to advance their own interests. But wherever they touched the Institution they left the trail of the serpent.

They sought to convert its pure philanthropy and toleration into political intrigue and religious bigotry. Hence it is believed that they had something to do with the invention of those Degrees, which were intended to aid the exiled house of Stuart in its efforts to regain the English throne, because they believed that would secure the restoration in England of the Roman Catholic religion. Almost a library of books has been written on both sides of this subject in Germany and in France.

MYSTERY BABYLON, the history of Vatican mass deception Documentary

Published on Oct 14, 2013
The name Vatican dates back to long time before Christianity occurred, back to the Etruscan people who lived there from the 8th to the 5th century B.C. (c. 450 B.C.). Vaticanus was one of the many deities the Etruscans worshiped, and his temple was built on Vaticanum, today more common known as Vatican Hill.

Majority of the Vatican Hill was once a large ancient pagan necropolis (large cemetery). The word necropolis is derived from Greek nekropolis, literally meaning "city of the dead". The Vatican is as the most complete melting pot of paganism, and hence the most hypocritical and blaspheme place on Earth. The Vatican is also the most powerful institution and top controller of secret societies, international banking system, imperialistic and propaganda justified warfare.

hmmm?????????????????????

pointless to condemn masonry..when the pope is the SUPREME head of all masonic orders..

the truth?
they took the body and put it in a vacuum sealed glass display, and call it
"The incorruptible body of Pope John XXIII""
(died 1963), on display in Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome.

Incorruptibility is when a body does not decompose after death without having been embalmed or otherwise treated. In the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches, incorruptibility is sometimes seen as evidence of a person's sainthood. According to Catholic Education, "Spiritually, such a sign is indicative of the person’s mortal remains being prepared for the glorious resurrection of the body. Although the Church is very reluctant to accept incorruptibility as a miracle in itself, it nevertheless does testify to the holiness of the person." Once recognized, the bodies of incorruptible saints often become objects of veneration and the focus of popular pilgrimage sites.

Along with not decomposing, incorruptible saints often exude a sweet odor sometimes called "the odor of sanctity." Believers point to Bible verses saying sacrifices smell sweet to God. "A burnt offering unto the LORD: it [is] a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD." (Exodus 29:18) as well as those who sacrifice much of themselves. "For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish." (2 Corinthians 2:15)

But natural mummification does occur in very dry climates, soils with a high salt content, and under other special conditions. So is incorruptibility a sign of holiness or is it a natural phenomena? The Skeptic's Dictionary points out that some of the best-known incorruptible saints, including St. Teresa of Avila and Pope John XXIII below, actually wear wax masks to make them appear even more lifelike. They also point out that plenty of non-saints have remained remarkably well-preserved after death, including the severed head of Charles I of England: "[The head] was quite wet, and gave a greenish-red tinge to paper and to linen which touched it. The back part of the scalp . . . had a remarkably fresh appearance. The hair was thick . . . and in appearance nearly black."

how morbid,
the guy is dead. bury him already.
one step better than a "Graven Image" I guess....lolol

lastly...

the Pope is ultimately the Supreme Head of all secret societies and masonic orders and all religious orders. Mormons, JW's, Lutheran's, even the Dali Lama-> all bow down and recognize the superiority & Authority of the Pope. The Pope is the Supreme Head of the Knights of Malta since 1113AD.. there's a 900 year old Masonic Order for you

I just don't see your point?
theres nothing wrong with being a mason.
thank god the Inquisition ended..
isn't the (black or white) Pope.. ultimately the Supreme Global Mason?

``Where the Bishop is, there let the multitude of believers be;
even as where Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church'' Ignatius of Antioch, 1st c. A.D

Pope John XXIII was Embalmed

By Philip Pullella

ROME, June 3 (Reuters) - When the body of Pope John XXIII was exhumed after 38 years and found to be mostly intact, some people believed it was a miracle. But it was in fact the achievement of a young doctor who was part of a team that secretly inserted a special liquid into the dead pontiff's veins hours after his death. Professor Gennaro Goglia, now 78, still vividly recalls how a Vatican car picked him up at home on the night of June 3, 1963, hours after Pope John died of stomach cancer. Goglia, then a specialist in anatomy at Rome's Catholic University, did not even tell his family where he was going.

In a surreal ceremony, John's body was carried on Sunday in a glass coffin to a new resting place in St Peter's Basilica where it will be visible to the faithful. Goglia was there and saw "my pope" for the first time since that night. "John was a great pope, a piece of history," Goglia told Reuters Television in an interview before the ceremony in his Rome home, where he now reproduces famous paintings and icons. "Finding myself there that night, having to do this job which was, let's admit it, a bit macabre, I was torn between two conflicting emotions. I was honoured to have been called to do this but I also felt the weight of the responsibility," he said.

Before John died he entrusted a custodian to see to his funeral. John recalled that the body of his predecessor Pius XII was preserved so badly in 1958 that the four men standing guard in the Vatican had to be changed every 15 minutes because they could not stand the stench. The custodian, also a doctor, got in touch with Goglia. After they arrived, Goglia and others were taken by private elevator to the papal apartments in the apostolic palace. They had to wait about an hour while Italian sculptor Giacomo Manzu made a bronze death mask.

"Manzu walked out and we walked in," Goglia said.

The tools of their trade were rather rudimental for a papal embalmment. A plastic tank was placed on the horizontal crossbeam of a painter's wooden ladder. A plastic tube protruded from the tank and ended in a needle that was placed in the dead pope's wrist. Goglia still has the formula he developed for the liquid -- nine ingredients including ethyl alcohol, formalin, sodium sulphate and potassium nitrate.

NOT JUST ANY BODY

"Yes, it was just a body. It didn't have to go to a beauty contest but it was the body of the pope (and so the work had to be done properly)," Goglia said.

About five litres were drip-fed into the arm and another five litres were injected via a big syringe into the stomach. This was to neutralise the putrification caused by the cancer that had ravaged his stomach and killed him. "It took about five or six hours. During the night I looked out the window into St Peter's Square and saw people who had come there to pray," he said. Goglia said he and the others decided that no blood was to be removed from the dead pope's veins but that the liquid would just be added. "What would we have done with a dead pope's blood?" he said, adding that there was a danger that, if extracted, the blood could have fallen into the wrong hands and sold as a relic. "I feel as if he is my pope in a certain sense," Goglia said. "I am the last one of the people who were there that night who is still alive."

In the past five months since it was exhumed, technicians have been working to keep the body preserved so that it could remain visible to the faithful. Since it was exhumed, the body of John was effectively "mummified," as one technician put it. The coffin's glass is bullet-proof and treated to block ultra-violet rays which could damage the body. But Goglia, interviewed again after Sunday's ceremony, said he was disappointed that today's doctors had decided to put a wax mask on Pope John's face. "It made me think of Madame Tussauds (Wax Museum). It could have been handled better," he said, adding that a cleansing solution would have given the dead pope a more natural look.

Consequences of Vatican II

The Incorrupt Pope and the Pharaohs
Atila Sinke Guimarães

There are many things in the life of John XXIII that raise suspicions. The young priest Angelo Roncalli had an open admiration for the Italian Modernist Ernesto Bonaiuti that did not seem to diminish with time. As Cardinal and Patriarch of Venice, he was known for his indirect political support for the socialists.

The young priest Roncalli, above, had an open admiration for Modernist Buonaiuti, below, that did not diminish with time

After he was chosen Pope, his actions continued to raise questions, such as, for example, his tacit abolition of Catholic militancy with his famous saying: “Communism is an enemy of the Church, but the Church does not have enemies.” And there was his implicit doing away with the condemnation of heresies and the errors of paganism with the installation of ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue. Further, there was his tacit acceptance of the errors of the Nouvelle Théologie with his invitation to theologians previously condemned by Pius XII to serve as periti at Vatican II. The list is long. The readers who would like more details or documents can read footnote 14 of the Introduction in the book Animus Delendi I by the same writer who signs this column.

It did not come as a surprise to me that John Paul II should “beatify” John XXIII. Since all the items that regulated beatifications and canonizations were eliminated in the new Code of Canon Law, everything now seems left to the arbitrary personal discretion of the Pontiff. And this has not shown itself to be as rigorous as the prior requirements. More or less everywhere he is beatifying whomsoever he desires.

The following axiom seems to apply well to him on the matter: “Potuit, voluit, ergo fecit” (He was able to do it, he wanted to do it, therefore he did it.)

What did surprise me was to hear that the body of John XXIII was found incorrupt. While I know that the incorruptibility of the body of a person is not an unequivocal sign of sanctity, it would nonetheless be a strong sign. I am firmly convinced that Angelo Roncalli was not a saint either before or after his ascension to the Pontificate. Thus my surprise and my perplexity, when I received the news of the incorrupt body. “Would there be a natural cause? Or could there be something preternatural?” I didn’t have elements to respond, and in my perplexity I calmly awaited an answer.

The answer reached me about 15 days ago, when I was catching up on my reading. I came upon an important report that I will summarize below. The report was published in the Italian weekly Famiglia Cristiana (n. 22, 2001) and I base myself on the information given in the French bulletin La Contre-Réforme Catholique (n. 8, August 2001).

John XXIII had chosen Professor Valdoni as his personal doctor, and the latter was assisted by Professor Mazzoni. These two doctors had heard about the discovery of a young colleague, Dr. Gennaro Goglia, assistant Professor at the Institute of Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of the Sacred Heart in Rome. Goglia had discovered a system to keep cadavers incorrupt. The two doctors of the Pope contacted the young scientist, and when the cancer of the stomach reduced John XXIII to his final stage, they asked Goglia to be ready to apply his invention on the Pope after his death. The two doctors had already spoken with John XXIII on the matter, and the latter had given them a written document leaving them in charge of preserving his mortal remains.

The mummified corpse of John XXIII, wearing a wax mask, now remains on display in St. Peter's Basilica - Los Angeles Times, June 4, 2001

Therefore, as soon as he died on the evening of June 3, 1963, Goglia was contacted and brought to the Vatican. In the Papal quarters, he set up next to the cadaver a tripod that held a plastic bottle containing ten liters of his liquid preservative. He then began the process of injecting this liquid with a tube and needle into the body of John XXIII. It was a long procedure, crowned with success. Those present during the proceedings in addition to Goglia were Prof. Mazzoni and two valets of John XXIII, the Gusso brothers. Dr. Goglia provided these details to Famiglia Cristiana in the interview. Until then, the whole operation had been kept rigorously secret.

I would like to let the reader read for himself the end of the testimony of the doctor, who today is age 78. Here are his words:
“We put the bottle containing the liquid on the tripod. We made a small cut in the right wrist and inserted the needle there. I was afraid that the blood would exit through the tube or that the liquid could cause the skin to rupture …. At 5 a.m. on June 4 the operation ended. The liquid had reached all the capillaries, blocking the process of decomposition. We then injected some liters of the liquid into the Pope’s stomach, destroyed by cancer, in order to kill the bacteria there.”
Here is the explanation. The incorrupt body of John XXIII is due to a scientific achievement, not to a miracle that would confirm the sanctity of Angelo Roncalli. If the fact of a body remaining incorrupt would itself reveal sanctity, then the Pharaohs of Egypt that were mummified should be considered saints.

just more smoke and mirrors..
just close your eyes...
have faith..
and just believe..(make) believe...
thank you Dr. Gennaro Goglia, *ps.-i see you were never charged legally with fraud..
or ever had any sort of legal charges against you in your lifetime..
maybe you can blame the Masons...lol..

Dr. Gennaro Goglia, assistant Professor at the Institute of Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of the Sacred Heart in Rome.
Came forward and confessed on Rueters TV.. he embalmed the Pope.

So, nothing is said, nothing is done. He joins the list of the other 250 incorrupt names and wax models on display.. and continue to let millions and millions of people believe, worship, and direct their spiritual energy and thoughts.. at and towards an embalmed cadaver-thinking it is holy, or a miracle..or whatever.

isnt this a Lie by Omission?

i think its tradition. to misdirect and deceive the faithful..
and let them line up like sheep on tour...
i'm speechless...appalling...

a final thought...
for the life span of one average person....
I can only think, that it is only pure evil...
to get anyone, for their lifetime...
to give admiration and devotion..
to that of a preserved dead corpse...???

i was wrong..
there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...lol

Scientists try to solve mystery of Hambo Lama Itigilov in Buryatia
Itar-Tass, July 4, 2007
MOSCOW, Russia -- Scientists and theologians from around the world are trying to solve the mystery of the incorruptible body of Hambo Lama Itigilov known as the “Buryat Nostradamus”.
<< Hambo Lama died in 1927 while meditating in lotus posture

About 150 researchers and theologians from Europe, Mongolia and Russia are attending the first-ever international conference “Pandito Hambo Lama Itigilov” underway at the official residence of the Buddhist traditional church of Russia – the Ivolginsky Datsan -- near Ulan Ude.

Hambo Lama died in 1927 while meditating in lotus posture and praying for the repose of his soul. The body stayed in the ground for 75 years. In 2002, when the tomb was opened, Buddhist monks saw that the body of their teacher had not decayed.

Now the relics, which are kept in a special shrine, are an object of worship.
Buddhists believe that Hambo Lama cognised Void, or Ultimate Reality. Before leaving this world, he fell in a state of mediation and cleansed his body to such extent that it became incorruptible. Secular experts cannot explain why some of the characteristics of the lama’s body are identical to those of living people.

The participants in the conference called Hambo Lama “the Buryat Nostradamus”.

Buryat theologians have found a book written by the lama allegorically in the old Mongolian language. High priest Baldan Lama Bazarov has been quoted by VIP. Buryatia.ru as saying at the conference that the deciphering of the book started immediately after its discovery.

It took two years to get a clue to part of the message, in which Hambo Lama predicted events of the 1920-1930s. But Buddhist philosophers say the code used in the book is not quite clear. The message itself is intricate enough as “one word can have different meanings”, Baldan Lama Bazarov said.

“He is the Buryat Nostradamus. If we can decipher the whole message, we will acquire the greatest knowledge,” a senior researcher at the Russian State Humanitarian Institute, Tatyana Strizhova, said.

According to the legend, 75-year-old Pandita Hambo Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov XII assumed the lotus posture, meditated and ceased to breath in 1927. The monks put in him in this posture in a pine box, filled it with salt and interred in a cemetery.

The head of the department of personal identification at the Russian Health Ministry’s forensic medicine centre, Professor Viktor Zvyagin, said Hambo Lama’s body is no different from the body of a person who died 12 hours ago.

Zvyagin and his colleagues studied tissue samples from the “incorruptible body”: hairs fallen from the lama’s head, skin pells, and a nail cut. They were compared to the samples of living persons, including those of Professor Zvyagin, and led researchers to the conclusion that the protein structure had not changed and matched that of a living person. The chemical analysis of the body produced stunning results. Scientists could not explain whey Itigilov’s body contained no or an infinitesimally small amount of chemical elements.

“Itigilov is not alive of course, for he cannot stand up and walk,” the Versiya newspaper said, referring to Professor Galina Yershova of the Russian State Humanitarian University who had also studied the body. “But when leaving this world in a state of meditation he fell not into death but in some other condition. The findings allow us to assume that the lama put himself in a state of anabiosis.”

She believes that Hambo Lama was buried alive and remained alive in the tomb all this time. “Hambo Lama’s condition changed after he was removed from the tomb, practically before our eyes,” Yershova said.

Experts say that no preserving agents were used for the conservation of the body. The analysis of a cell by the nuclear resonance method showed that the nucleus of the cell was there and the state of cytoplasm was close to that of a living person.

Although the Pandito Hambo Lama Itigilov is a unique case, he is not the only “incorruptible” Buddhist, PRS.ru said. The mummified body of monk Vuc Khac Minh has been sitting in lotus posture in the temple at Duc, 23 kilometres from Hanoi, for 300 years.

Unlike Vuc Khac Minh, Itigilov’s body has not shrunk and has suffered practically no changes at all. Moreover when the lama’s skin was accidentally punctured, a red jelly-like stuff, which had once been the blood, oozed out of the puncture.

Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov was the head of Buddhists in Eastern Siberia from 1911 to 1917. He became famous as a philosopher and a doctor. He spent his whole life in Buryatia and left Siberia only once to attend celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov.

During World War One he organised hospitals and received several state awards. He became fabled in his lifetime. One of the legends holds that like Christ he could walk on the water.

Buddhists still treat Itigilov as a living person who is in a special state of body and mind, NEWSru.com said. They believe that neither knowledge nor acute mind can turn one into Dashi-Dorzho. One has to feel enormous compassion for all living beings and become a bodhisattva, i.e. “a perfect being that has the compassionate determination to aid all beings and who is on a mission to liberate all sentient beings, and only then will he rest in his own enlightenment
